CHINA

From 2007

At the University of the Nations and YWAM International Workshop in Taiwan in 2007 China was the theme. We believe the Lord sparked a vision there in us to redirect our family ministry work from Africa to China. This does not mean we will not go to Africa or the former Soviet Countries again but rather that our main focus is to be China.

We have had a heart for China for many years since we ministered there in 1987 on a Crossroads DTS outreach. Bruce also spent three weeks with a medical team from USA (Christian and Dental Medical Society of USA) in 1988 teaching oral surgery, during which he had opportunities to preach the gospel.

In 2007 Bruce and Nellie conducted a seminar on sexuality in Taipei. They went again to Taipei and conducted seminars on the family and leadership at a large church, working in conjunction with YWAM Taiwan.

In 2009 they went to Hong Kong to a large Call2All conference which will gave insights into reaching China and opportunities for networking.

In 2009 Bruce and Nellie spent four weeks conducting seminars on the family in Lanzhou in NW China and in Dalian in NE China.

Bruce intends to enter China using his professional qualifications as an oral surgeon and dentist to address other professional persons (doctors, psychologists, social workers, etc.) on such topics as healthy family life, addiction, healthy sexuality and leadership. THis is how he was able to reach many non-Christians in the former Soviet countries.

In 2011 Bruce and Nellie plan to be in NE China for three months to pioneer the first YWAM Family Ministry School in China.

Invitations to other Chinese locations have also been received.
